3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Going with Gawdin again. He will be the Flames 13th forward, if not the starting 4th line center this season

still Huckins

Once Pettersen is out of the way, it will be wide open again

Petterson finally. I started voting for him after the top 5 but it became clear he wasn't going to be the consensus and just a wasted vote so I've mostly voted elsewhere until the last few rounds. Still think Petterson surprises, and he honestly had a pretty decent first AHL year all things considered.

Seeing the prospects ranked really makes me feel much stronger about this organizations stable of future players.

It seems unusual for a prospect outside the top 15 to get more than 50% of the votes, yet here we are.

I don’t feel confident about anyone’s NHL chances after Emilio.

Granted there is still a lot unknowns about the guys picked in the last 2 drafts.

Glen Gawdin will play more NHL games than any players remaining on this list.

Cole Jordan. We got a 6'2"D-man, who is one of the best skaters in his draft. 10pts in 23 games, as he didn't see a lot of time on the top-pairing with Daemon Hunt, but I think he'll put up some big numbers this year.

You realize this bet will take like 10 years to play out.

...I like it

Same as the last two rounds and likely a few more rounds to come in Cole Huckins.

My main concern with Pettersen at this point is similar to that of Phillips: I'm not sure his offence is going to translate to the NHL level and his game doesn't offer enough elsewhere to make it as a role player. In his time with the University of Denver Pioneers, Pettersen scored 30 of his 65 points on the powerplay including 57% (20/35) last season. Yes, goals count whenever they are scored, however the point of the exercise is projecting future potential and production which is where the concern lies. For players who struggle to score at even strength but feast on the powerplay in the junior/college levels, what happens when they level up - or make the NHL - and no longer receive powerplay opportunities or see a significant reduction in time? If you can't dominate your peer group in lower levels at even strength, it is awfully tough to make it in the NHL, even as a specialist. This is the similar situation that encountered two similar-sized and profile players who did make it for a short period of time due to their skill but quickly found themselves replaced with better all-around players as they were ineffective without powerplay time: Stephane Da Costa and Linus Omark. There is no denying Pettersen's skill and in a tough transition from the the NCHC to the AHL I thought he had an okay season. I will be looking for a breakout offensive season this season or he's probably in tweener territory.

Spoiler!

Here is how the two public models see this round's winner. Please note that the criteria each model uses for star and NHLer is different! JFresh/TopDownHockey will almost always be lower than Bader's as their thresholds are a much higher standard so adjust accordingly.

Hockey Prospecting
Calgary's own, and fellow Flames fan, Byron Bader runs the excellent site, Hockey Prospecting. You have likely seen his graphics before. At just $25/year his site is a wonderful resource for any fan interested in prospects. You can register here and support Bader's work if you are interested: https://hockeyprospecting.com/register/

JFresh/TopDownHockey
JFresh and his partner TopDownHockey introduced their NHLe model this year. You will be familiar with the NHL player graphics they produce regularly. At $7/month the subscription is a no-brainer for any hockey fan. You can register here and support their work if you are interested: https://www.patreon.com/jfreshhockey
