Folks I’m doing a quick one player only batch. After this one I anticipate 2 more batches of players followed by 2 open batches for remaining (the first for which you will need cap space to cover your offers, the 2nd for which cap space will no longer matter).
But in assembling the next batch I realized that Cam Talbot was a free agent and missed from previous batches despite a high rating. He should have been included in a previous batch but somehow I missed him, and no one mentioned him either. I suspect some savvy teams were hoping to grab him in an open batch.
But as a highly rated goalie I feel the best way to avoid him going for a complete steal is to put him out there on his own to maximize the offers.
Deadline is noon Wed Calgary time. Same rules apply.
I had been working on a potential deal with another team to sign Talbot and then trade him to me for picks and prospects.
I had initially asked that GM to offer Talbot 3 x $5.25, lol. Was trying to trade for more cap last night to offer Talbot $4 million. That didn't go through in time so I had to offer him $2.88, all I had.
