These are head scratchers for me. You mean to tell me that between all the players available on the Kings and all the players available on the Coyotes, the Kraken couldn't have selected a single player worth more than a fourth rounder?

Good trade for the Kraken. The 4th rounder is likely going to be way, way better than MacDermid.

Odds are the 4th may not get to 100 NHL games. Don't know what they were thinking picking up MacDermid and Pitlick to trade for 4th, but didn't take Bean for the 2nd.

Sure, but MacDermid with his limited hockey talent has no place in the NHL at all. He can't play regular minutes. Pretty much all he can do decent is facepunch.

At least he's not in our division anymore. Those old school goons are getting pretty rare and hurt their teams a bit but not fun watching them when they start running around against your team. Him and Looch looked pretty even when they fought, he's a pretty tough guy but not the greatest at actual hockey.
It's a bit hard to understand Seattle here. Someone like Lizotte or Lemieux who are established young NHLers or a prospect like Clague have got to be worth more than a 4th/lotto ticket two years out.
I feel like teams are aware that Seattle is going to have waiver issues and nobody is helping them out. Nice to see an actual bad expansion team coming in vs. Vegas and how spoiled they have been.

What's crazy to me is the could have had someone like Grundstrom who has top 6 potential. Not sure how they figured a 4th is more valuable

He's going to be doing something soon because he's 10 mill below the cap floor. If they just spend to the floor its sure to piss off the NHLPA who were counting on those dollars and jobs.
