Also whatever the AAV turns out to be keep in mind that he was only going to sign in Colorado for that amount.
Anywhere else it was highly likely he would want more.

I thought he would test the free agent market with the previous 7x7 talked about but looks like the Avs gave him another year and the money he was looking for.
It's still a long contract but he's played his whole career there, golden handshake! And he still has a good chance to win a cup.

I honestly think this was always the outcome.
Never felt like he’d leave and both sides were going to make it work in the end.
