Because MacAvoy and Carlo both are RD does that make Carlo a middle pair d-man?
The other Boston d-men are Grzelcyk who as a small LD is paired with MacAvoy. Does that make him a top pairing d-man?
The other top-4 guy for them was playoff rental (3rd round pick) Mike Rielly who was paired with Carlo.
I would suggest that Carlo is the #2 D on Boston and this is a team friendly deal.
For interest: where would you rank Carlo in the Flames current Defense?
He would be the lowest paid of Hanifin and Andersson who are the same age as Carlo and a chunk of change behind Tanev as well.
Both Andersson and Hanifin skip the bridge contract( Carlo 2 x 2.85) after their ELC and went straight to the big bucks.
