Default Poker site sign-up bonuses

Somebody a while back posted something about a poker room that gave you a sign up bonus without actually requiring a deposit. Can anyone who knows the info post it here for me? Thanks.

You can't have downloaded the Party Poker software before.

You have to be 21.

You have to live in North America.

If you fit all three you are eligible for it. I suspect the first one is the only one that may be an issue.

I'll post my spiel here in a minute.

How about $100 free to try out online poker?

Don't want to deposit? Don't have to!

Too good to be true? How do they give away free money? Party Poker pays PSO for getting you to play and PSO pays you a portion of what they get from Party Poker. And you get free money to try out online poker.

http://www.instantbankroll.com/ib.asp?rc=evank

Already played at Party? Play lots of online poker? Done Instant Bankroll and want to try something else? Want some free stuff? Try out this link:

http://www.pokersourceonline.com/pso.asp?rc=evank

Get free chips, cards, tables, software, just for playing at poker sites you'd be playing at anyway!

Although those links have my referral code embedded, sometimes they don't work properly. So if you could, it would be nice if, when you sign up, you use my referral code.

Referral code: evank

Any questions, problems or ambiguities just ask.

Well, I ****ed that up. I entered your code instead of the one I was supposed to for the bonus. Perfect. Thanks for posting the info though.

so have you actually done this? I dont' really like the look of the Party Poker, but if they are willing to give you free money to play with it might be worth a try.

Evman's suggestion is a good way to get started... if you want to build up a bankroll so you can get out of the micro limit games, here is my suggestion. A Neteller account is needed for this to make it easier to move your money around.

The way I started out was by buying into UltimateBet. No particular reason, I just decided to start there. I played off their bonus playing super micro limits for a while ($0.05 - $0.10), and then moved up to $0.25 - $0.50.
Once I played off that bonus, I had just under $100 (I deposited $50). I also played off a $50 bonus on Pacific Poker. I then pulled the money back out of Pacific and threw it into UB again for one of their reload bonuses (I believe it was another $50).

Once I had $200, I deposited into Paradise Poker. Now the $200 number is important, because you can get a 50% bonus on Paradise up to $100 - so having the $200 is obviously crucial since you get the maximum bonus. Just search google for "Paradise Poker 50%" to get a bonus code .. I believe I got mine from Pokerlistings.com. I moved up to $0.50 - $1 at this point, as you can clear the bonus much faster. Don't move up unless you feel comfortable doing so though ... but really, the games at this level aren't any more difficult.

After playing off this bonus, you should have at least $300 (if you are playing at least break even poker ... if you aren't then make sure you don't move past $0.50 -$1 ... and if you are really having a hard time, try dropping down to $0.25 - $0.50 again to get your confidence back).

At this point, I decided to play off some casino bonuses playing blackjack. Now, I don't fancy myself a blackjack player, nor do I find it particularly fun... but the bonuses were RIDICULOUSLY easy to play off and really helped me to build my poker bankroll. All you need is to follow a basic blackjack strategy and you're good to go. A really good one can be found here: http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bjbse.php

The bonuses at the Planetluck and Starluck casinos are excellent. They will give you a 100% bonus up to $100 - so obviously, you want to deposit $100. The only catch is that you have to wager 8x the amount you deposit+the bonus before you can cash out... so you need to wager $1600. I played by just placing $1 bets ... I could play about 600 hands an hour, so it took around 3 hours to do it. If you increased your bets you could do it faster, just remember that it will increase your variance as well.

I also played off the Casino-On-Net bonus which was a 100% up to $200 bonus ... theirs takes a bit longer to play off though as I believe it is something like 10x your deposit+bonus .. so $4000 wagered.

After doing Star and Planetluck I had earned an additional $160, and after doing all 3 I had an additional $310. That plus my other $300 made over $600 which is a safe bank roll to start playing $1 - $2 (300 BB). All this from a $50 investment.

From there you can just keep whoring up bonuses around various poker sites, or just start playing on your favorite poker site (I'm heading to Party).

Hope this helps someone... feel free to ask questions if you are curious about anything.

Yes I have done it. And a lot of my friends have done it as well. It's a great promo.

You just have to follow all the instructions REALLY carefully.

And it's nice to see I'm not the only bonus whore on this site. Although I recommend doing all the things stated in the post above (haven't done starluck and planetluck, done all the rest and more), I would further recommend signing up through an affilate like the one I gave a link to. That way you not only get the deposit bonus, but you also get some sort of free gift. I've done a bunch of promos (seven) in the past couple months and have just recieved gift certificates totalling $480 from Future Shop. So not only have I gotten deposit bonuses and won plenty of money playing, but I've earned myself a new TV, just because I did my bonus whoring through an affiliate.

wow thanks for the tip, I've played just over 80 hands so far and I just activated the money, I kinda wish I'd seen the one to get the free poker table first cause that would have been a nice little thing to get, maybe later I'll sign up on one of the other sites.

thanks for the tip, it's much appreciated for us guys aren't comfortable using a credit card online yet.

A good deposit bonus is at Hollywood poker. You do have to deposit money to get the bonus, but it is a 500% bonus, up to a maximum of $1000. So, a $200 deposit qualifies you for the maximum $1000 bonus.

The catch is that the bonus is paid in $50 increments as 850 Poker Points are earned. You earn .07 points for every 10 cents of rake on a hand which you are dealt cards. You only have 2 months to earn points before the bonus becomes invalid. Honestly, you likely need a larger bank roll than $200 so that you can play high enough limits in order to earn points fast enough. It would be a nice way to supplement Evman's and Grunt's roll building techniques once you have a decent roll, or if you feel like you can gamble with some money. On the other hand, even if you play at lower limits where the rake is lower, you can still earn a portion of the $1000 at the $50 increments.

Hollywood poker can be found here. It is a decent site. It shares the same player base as PokerRoom. The downloadable software is really good. The online mode offers a Java applet from which to play. There is a good selection of limit, NL, and Tournament play. I play there often, and do quite well.

If anyone wants to sign up, send me a PM, and I can Refer-A-Friend you. We split $150 bonus; $50 gets split when you earn 150 points, and then the remaining $100 gets split when you earn another 150 points.

That is actually one of the worst bonuses anywhere.

It's not the bonus amount or percentage that matters. It's the rate of clearing.

A 25% $100 bonus at 5x is WAY better than a 500% $1000 bonus at 100x like the Hollywood bonus.

Plus PokerRoom/Hollywood is a brutal site.

I agree, the rate of clearing is important. But, I have already earned most of the other smaller bonuses that have faster clearing rates. I've earned about half of it, and will probably earn about $800 of the $1000 before my time is up.

Why do you thing PokerRoom/Hollywood is a brutal site? I quite like the downloadable version of the software.

The software is almost unplayable. Not to mention a total lack of functionality.

The software is fine (still bad, but manageable) if you play only one table. But the moment you multitable it becomes hell. Six tables? An absolute clicking nightmare.

Other than that, terrible bonuses and good players make Poker Room a bad site.
