Eskimos Grey Cup Champs
pretty decetn game, Ray comes through in the clutch and Fleming nails a nail biter in OT for the win (two other great TD's in OT as well). A bizarre event as Calvillo passed the ball, it ricocheted back to him so he threw downfield to a wide open receiver who promptly dropped it (wouldn't have counted as the QB cannot pass twice on the same play).

Ooops.
Chris Berman on Sunday night football just played the Grey Cup highlights during the halftime show and mentioned "..Tom Higgins, coach of the Eskimos."
Uh, Chris? While I think your CFL references are great, get the coaches correct, OK? That's Maciocia

You guys see Maciocia run onto the field after Montreals failed 2nd down? He was prancing around like George Costanza after he became a hand model.
And what is with Don Matthews and his purple nose? I feel bad for the guy if it's alchoholism, but wow.

Hell of a game. I hate the Esks, but can respect this win. Definitely one of the most exciting games I've seen.
Imagine if Calvillo ran instead of the illegal forward pass?

It looked to me at first as though he thought it was 3rd down, not 2nd, and was celebrating the win. Was wondering what he was doing.
Not a huge CFL fan, but that was a heck of a game. Very exciting to watch.
And was it just me, or did I see some empty seats there today, particularily up in the nosebleeds?

As an Eskimos fan, that was great!!!! I didn't like the fact that Maciocia ran onto the field after the failed second down, he did that earlier in the season and they lost that game. I'm still happy they won though, the wife is ticked, she's a Montreal fan. What was with Don's nose anyways?

The game was announced as a sellout and I'm pretty sure that it was. The stands were packed every time I saw them.
I agre with you that Macciochia thought it was third down and the game was over. But he was bizarre on the sidelines earlier. When the Eskies had a chance to intercept the ball and they both dropped it, he fell to his knees and buried his face in his hands dramatically shaking his head. The other coaches had to pull him to his feet.

I believe in the Pony Power

A wild finish to be sure. Should have never got to OT though. I couldn't believe Edmonton didn't come up with INT towards the end of the game. I though at the time - you don't miss an opportunity like that and win Grey Cups. Guess I was wrong.
Also way too many drops for the Als.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I was saying that those two Eskimo players might be having sleepless nights after that. I'm glad I was wrong though. I'm one of those weird fans that supports teams from Edmonton and Calgary (The Flames and the Esks.) Well I do live in Red Deer so I come by it honestly!!

That was easily one of the most entertaining Grey Cups and football games (well, the second half anyway) I've ever seen. Awesome.
Congrats to the Eskies... Don't like them much, but all the respect is there.

Or if the play just went incomplete.

Best Grey Cup I've ever seen!
A real roller-coaster nail biter.
Congrat's to both teams!
