Anaheim, Carolina and Colorado each put multiple players on waivers. Toronto put only one player on waivers. Petan's gotta feel good that he's the only person waived on his team.

I remember Winnipeg fans telling me Petan was better than Gaudreau back when he was an up and comer. Haha.

I'm certain this question is asked every single time waivers is the topic...

What is the waiver wire selection order?

Maybe. He's 23 and yet to crack the NHL, but he has some skill. He's like a Czarnik or Quine. Might be good to have in the fold, but not someone you play every night.

Stolarz is another that might get a look-see if a team isn't happy with their current taxi-squad guy.

Wouldn’t Stolarz have to be the back up if claimed, not the taxi squad AHL?

Petan is worth a waiver. In my opinion.

But maybe he has attitude issues.

With that cap hit, they couldn't even if they wanted to.

Oh, didn't think about that. Probably right I imagine.

He probably needs to play games at this point in his career to get better as well.

I don't think it's an attitude issue - but rather he is looking more and more like the classic tweener. Outperforms at the AHL level but doesn't produce at the NHL level.
27 points in 129 players
He's not an NHLer.

^ this for Petan. Same will apply to Bracco IMO too, not sure anyone will take him off waivers. He's a guy that needs a top 6 crack or bust... he's not someone you can play in your bottom 6 and hope for success. Problem is he's just not quite good enough for NHL top 6.

We like our 2013 draft players. Why not take a stab at Petan.

what is the point of grabbing Petan when he would spend more time on the taxi squad, which mean he still has to clear waivers.

Stolarz just signed a two year extension with the Ducks the other day. I'm not sure the Flames would want to commit to three years on an AHL goalie.
