Flames Flames @ Oilers - 8:00pm MT (CBC, SN)

There's a Calgary Flames hockey game tonight.

Their opponent is the Edmonton Oilers.

The venue is Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta.

Start time is 8:00pm Mountain Daylight Time.

Go Flames.

I want the W against the Oilers. But I want a high draft pick more. So conflicted.

Whatever, it's out of our control, just watch it play out and see what happens.

Even if we ran the table and closed the gap on Montreal you know the Oilers will sit McAvi and the German one for “rest” and throw their last two games against the Canadiens.

Then they get to play the Jets which may be the coldest team in the league right now.

Screw the Oilers.

No way. To them McDavid hitting 100 points is worth more than anything else they can do. They will play him every game and let him stay outside the blue line. They're already designing the McDavid 100 banner.

I wonder if either of Draisaitl or McDavid will play 28+ minutes tonight.

If they do, I'm guessing Calgary wins.

I like to think that we're in the Oilers' heads a little bit after losing two straight to us with McDingus and Drai held pointless in both games. Here's hoping more of that self doubt creeps in again tonight. I'd love to see the Flames pound them 7-0 or something. Just embarrass the s*** out of them.

If the Flames run the table the Jets will need a couple wins too. Oilers will need one.

Flames run the table/Oilers run the table in reverse lol...would be the greatest finish in hockey history

Really need a W for both Flames and Senators tonight.

Unlikely, considering the amount of time off between then and the playoffs starting

Back to back games where they have kept McDavid and Draisaitl off the scoresheet. A third consecutive would cause some lovely consternation in Dumpsterville

I'm looking at where Carolina is in the standings, and how awesome Hamilton has been for them, and I can't help but wonder if maybe we should have just kept him and traded the rest of the team.

I get hoping for a better pick, and I don't blame anyone for that. But for me to cheer for anything other than the Flames burying the Oilers under Rogers Place... I'd rather forfeit the damn pick. Lose outside of Alberta if you absolutely have to.

Yeah but than everyone would be pissed for not trading him at the deadline or giving him 70 million over 7 years or letting him walk for nothing.

I'm one of the first guys to criticize the Flames for downgrading talent to try and save a buck. I still think the Flames traded the two best players in the deal. But there is a pretty good possibility that Carolina has nothing or one guy making as much as the two the Flames do. Plus Lindholm scores against the Oilers.

Flames would be worse if you subtracted Lindholm/Hanifin and added Hamilton

Also he is a UFA after this season

I agree. We bought Lindholm and Hanifin at the right time.

And the cost savings and cost certainty is a big time W for the Flames.

There is no conflict.

It’s the oil. You have to want the win.

Remember, this is the very team that sucked and sucked and sucked and all the high draft picks in the world haven’t helped them.

Kick their ass. Losing is not an option. .
