icon57 Flames @ Oilers 7 p.m (MST) — SN: limp noodle BOA.

The false hope is still alive. But even more important than 2 points is just beating the D-Bags from up the road.

Keep Mcdingleberries and Drysaddle off the scoresheets and get a W for civic pride.

I'd really like for the Flames to even up the season series.
That is my final hope for the season.

A loss to the Oilers is worth like -10 points in the standings.

I completely close the door and then the Habs and Canucks lose last night so I guess there is a little more interest in tonight’s game. Likely still prioritizing the NFL draft over this game but should be able to catch most of both.

Hoping to win these next 2 so we can split the series with the Oil

Maybe this is a bit of a “kill the Batman” oversimplification of our problems, but I don’t understand why we don’t just assign two guys, maybe Dube and Backlund/Bread, to shadow McDrai and dare the rest of the team to beat us.

7-1 Flames.

every game we win going forward decreases the chances we’ll get to draft anyone with recent game tape. It’ll truly be an unknown first round pick.

First game all season I am not planning my day around or intend on watching. If the Flames can't show up most games, why should I?

Having said that, always cheering to beat Edmonton so Go Flames Go.

Never cheer to lose against Edmonton. There is value in playing hard and not going out in embarrassing fashion.

That said I think it's smart to elevate the roles of some younger players to see what they can do. The goal is to make a better team for coming years, not win these games by rising vets hard.

Probably one of the few times I haven’t really looked fwd to a battle of Alberta. Not sure what to expect from the flames. Motivated and hungry vs an arch rival? Or roll over and die?
Mcdingus had a 3 point night last night, so at least it’s not the ‘bounce back’ scenario where he comes in pissed he was shut out the night before.

I care about the team building through the draft, but I care more about beating the oilers.

Steamroll these punks.

Toronto was kind enough to beat the Habs in regulation, so we need to step up to the plate vs the No Goods - would be 4 pts back again.

The Habs and Canucks will keep the Flames in the hunt. The Flames will eventually take themselves out of the hunt. This division is like the mid 80's Norris Division, 3 of the worst teams in hockey slugging it out for that last playoff spot.
