Chucky on the Decline....
Ever since his new contract he has not been the same player. I wonder if Sutter can get him to stop playing the puck between his own legs and get back to simple hockey. If the flames want to be elite we need Chucky.
What do you think Darryl needs to do to get Chucky back.

He had a concussion last year in the playoffs. it's possible he never truly recovered.
I'm going to be patient.

Meh. He'll figure it out. I'm not concerned about Tkachuk at all.
I think he needs to play with Backlund again.

I think he turns it around, but if he doesn’t you trade him sooner than later while he has value and let some other team give him his 9 mil qualifying offer.
I still wish we traded him for Laine and I’m a big Tkachuk fan.

Could you imagine if every franchise traded their best players during one sub par season?
That's a winning strategy.

He hasn't been the same since he scored that between the legs OT goal against the Preds.

He's been hampered from CHRPing and it's effecting his game. Whatever happened with the Muzzin incident and its aftermath messed with his head in a serious way. Beyond just scoring he's not playing the same way he has been his entire career up to that point. Hopefully Sutter can get him back focused on the basics.

Two new sponsorships this year:
Digiorno pizza
Sherwood graphite hockey sticks (available at Canadian tire)
If he is playing with a can tire stick that likely explains a lot of the issues he’s having. And frozen zaa? Hear not even Johnny eats that ####

Meh. Kopitar had one season where he scored 12 goals and 50-something points and the next year he scored 35 goals and 92 points.
Sometimes players have bad seasons. Tkachuk is having an off year and he’s still producing at a good rate. He’ll be fine.

That's not exactly how pro sponsorships work. I know pro cyclists that "ride" cheap brands but really it's just a repainted top tier bike The players don't actually need to use the brand they are promoting. It just has to have the sponsors name on it.

He's in a rut
not on the decline.
Upping his commitment level to practice and fitness right now might help him turn it around though. He's a stride behind out there and any improvement in quickness would go a long ways to making him more effective.

I live in China and I would KILL for a Digiorno Pizza! They're damn better than anything you can buy here.
The fact that Tkachuk is sponsored by Digiorno makes me like him a little.

He's a little young to be on the decline. I think it's more he's probably hit his ceiling seeing his skating isn't improving. In today's NHL skill will only take you so far with below average skating. It's been a pretty bad season for him but he's not alone on this team. I don't think he's good enough to warrant the money he's going to be looking for on his next contract which does put the Flames in a bit of a difficult situation as they will have to decide this offseason if they think he's a guy they want to pay $8-10 million on a long term deal because that family will be seeking maximum money.

He seems slower than last season and at the end of shifts he is gasping like someone has held his head underwater for 2 minutes.

Frozen pizza is a viable backup plan, I usually have a couple of the frozen pizzas from Coco Brooks in the freezer as a contingency for the odd late day.
