Default UFAs moving to bid

This is confusing so posting it here so it's all straight.

Luca Sbisa

- First offers by the Caps at 12:24 PM Saturday (starts the 24 hour clock)

- Subsequent offers by Philly, Anaheim
- In addition LA also made an offer but past the 24 hour deadline

So...Caps, Ducks and Flyers all move to stage 2 and should submit their bids now to cphlufa. Winning bid will go to the team with the best offer as calculated by cap*year*AHL % (5% to 50%, or 1 way)

Blake Comeau

- First bid by the Caps at 12:24 PM Saturday (starts the 24 hour clock)
- Subsequent bids by Anaheim

Caps and Anaheim move to open bidding round. Same rules as above.

The move makes total sense to me but it's just funny seeing Sbisa get that much

Haha I figured I wouldn't get Sbisa.

A bit surprised on Comeau but I'll take it!

Who would've thunk that Sbisa would be the upgrade we sought for our back end just prior to the playoffs. Happy to have landed him though.

Side note: is there any negatives to not disclosing the finalists when a UFA bid has multiple interested parties and moves to round 2? For this one, I knew I could out bid the Ducks but the Caps had a lot of cash to play with and that forced me to make a cap trade to help my chances at winning Sbisa. It worked out for me but, had I not known who else had a shot, I would not have bid as much.

I think it would be more fun/challenging to not know who we were bidding against but need to understand if that would carry any potential negatives.

I am glad JD thinks I am a lunatic that would go to extremes to get free assets lol.

Well the one negative is I know. So if I'm one of the bidding teams that gives me an advantage?
The current way also allows me to be transparent with the league, for instance in this case, being able to highlight why a team that did submit an offer didn't make it to the 2nd round.

I'm open to the option though. I just don't know how to get around the fact that I can see who has made offers. So if I know it feels like everyone should?

Just a heads up, Comeau was entered as 1-way on my roster, not 2 way.
