There seems to be a serious issue facing the CPHL lately. I don't know when it started, but I can't believe it's been going on. I'm sure I'm not the only GM who has experienced it, but it's a dark spot on the reputation of the league, it's founders, it's GMs, and Calgarypuck on the whole.

I'm talking about the drunken MSNing. That's right. The following is a real conversation. It happened between two real CPHL GMs. One is realy realy sober. The other could be sober, but is posting realy drunk. Real.

PLAYERS NAMES PROTECTED DUE TO TRADE NOT INVOLVING THE NORDIQUE

[21:10] nyrcrisfer- Leafs/Americans: Hey. I hear about the deal you made with [unidentified CPHL team]... if you have any intention to deal [High Profile CPHL Superstar not on Nordiques roster] I would be very interested.

[22:03] nyrcrisfer- Leafs/Americans: Yea I talk to [unidentified CPHL team] a bit

Bah, drunken MSNing is the best way to get a player you want. Besides with all the movement in the league, I'm sure the poor guy just had the player in question confused.

Sometimes you can try so hard to get a player, that you try to get him from teams that don't even have him!

Guess that's what happens when your 8 games under .500 and sinking fast.
