Rittich with the shutout!

But seriously, the fact that Brett Ritchie was the RW on the Gaudreau and Monahan line for most of the game after Simon was promoted (following his healthy scratches) and then benched for his awful turnover...

I'm generally a Ward and Treliving supporter but this game was a cry for help.

Mantha out of DET, or a handful of Nashville players would all be huge upgrades for this team. Doing nothing but expecting this lineup formation with Simon/Leivo/Ritchie/whoever to help that line is ridiculous. It's clearly not happening.

At the very least with how useless Tkachuk has been lately, why not go back to a top 9 of:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Mangiapane
Lucic - Bennett - Dube

Terrible. Bad coaching, and players who like to take nights off(and a lot of them)...

Not sure how Treliving can watch this team and be ok with this.

Have to make a coaching change before this season is lost.

Done for the night, but I'll leave on a positive note.

Valimaki is going to be great for the Flames.

Andersson is still a great physical defenseman.

Nesterov can stay too, he plays smart at both ends considering he's on the 3rd pair.

Lucic is a solid 3rd line player (and James Neal was put on waivers).

Gaudreau, while snake bitten tonight, seems like he gives a damn this season.

Monahan skating back hard and has been pretty good defensively as opposed to last season.

Hasek, sorry... Markstrom is a fantastic goaltender who you can build a championship team around.

And finally, I am curious to see what Brett Ritchie can do for this team. So far in only one game, he's shown more hustle than Simon and Nordstrom.

I suspect Tre is an excellent assistant GM. Good at contract negotiations, cap management, etc.

But as a GM setting the strategy? He's a disaster.

Outclassed in the last three games by a team that was a loser of six straight heading in, and we were lucky to win one of those last three.

But this is fine. Keep on keepin on Flames!

The Flames have won many games with worse efforts than they showed tonight

Still a pretty pathetic loss but all will be well again if they win this weekend

The good: Lucic/Bennett/Dube/Mangiapane/our uniforms

The bad: everything else.

Doomed to wander in irrelevancy until a top tier coach is hired.

8 wins. 8 losses.
