Florida really knew what they were doing by going after Verhaeghe.

He had 9 goals and 4 assists in 52 games for Tampa last year, and 3 of those goals were in one blowout game vs Vancouver. His most common linemates were Gourde and Mitchell Stephens.

He goes to Florida, and looks great with Barkov. He already had 6 goals and 3 assists.

The Flyers break the scoreless tie, midway through the third period and the Bruins tie it up.

And that's the Elliott we know. Whiffs on a shot to let the Bruins take the lead late.

I know that nobody is going to take any real notice, but the Panthers win again, pushing their record to 6-0-2.

Now to be fair, they have had one of the easiest schedules to date, but they're still winning these games. Nobody is a pushover in the NHL anymore.

The team has been driven by their top players, as Barkov and Huberdeau have 12 and 11 points in 8 games so far, but the new additions like Verhaeghe (6 goals, 9 points), Hornqvist (5 goals, 8 points) and Duclair (6 points) have been very good as well. Add in Yandle's 7 points and Ekblad's 6 points from the backend, while actually defending fairly well, and you have some good production from the top players. I was worried this team wouldn't be able to score goals after the loss of so much talent, but they haven't missed a beat. The rest of the roster needs to pick it up, but they aren't giving up a lot when on the ice either, so it's okay.

Now to compare the goalies, they've both started 4 games, but the stats, yeesh:

Bobrovsky: 3-0-1, GAA-3.57, sv%-.881...Salary: $10 M

Driedger: 3-0-1, GAA-1.72, sv%-.942...Salary: $850 K

Goalie-Bob...come on man.

Final scores

Gotta say that the Sharks-Ducks game was fun to watch. The Sharks led 1-0 after the 1st period, the Ducks owned the 2nd period (13-3 in shots) and were up 3-1, and then the Sharks came back to take the lead in the 3rd period. The Ducks tied it up and it went to the SO where the Sharks won. Great goaltending by Jones who faced 37 shots in the win. Both teams were each 0/3 on the PP. San Jose killed off a penalty in OT.

The Knights looked well rested as they played for the first time in 10 days. They beat the Kings 5-2. Quick didn't have his chocolate milk as he let in 4 goals on 10 shots and was pulled. Hague, Karlsson, and Pacioretty each had 3 points.

The Red Wings lost again to the Lightning 3-1, but, played a lot better. The Bolts scored the ENG to clinch the win while wearing their retro jerseys. Neither team scored on the PP.

The Panthers won 2-1 in reg time and were the stronger team against the Predators. The only reason your team didn't blow out the Preds was the goaltending of Rinne.
