I do think the Flames turned the corner last game, even if everyone wasn't overly impressed. I suspect they show up tonight with a convincing win that puts the naysayers at bay for a while longer.

The last performance was one of a team coming out of a funk. I'm just so beat down and cynical over the team that I don't know what to think or expect.

The best part of Saturday's game (besides the win) was how the Flames finished. I thought they looked their best in the first ten- and final ten-minutes of that game.

Nor do I. Still the Flames are at the bottom of the division and need to make up ground with their games at hand. Bad enough the Flames got that early break that derailed their start but they will also be the last team to play Ottawa as you have to think they will start playing better hockey (they can't get any worse) by the time the Flames play them.

You know, if Toronto didn’t get 3 unrepeatable bounces and steal that game, the Flames would be 4-2-1
They are going to have games they don’t deserve to win as well
If the team settles in and plays the way they can, the standings will take care of themselves.

Sorry. My 27th birthday is on the 8th and I’m saving that 7-2 magic for the game against the Oilers on the 6th.
Delivering on essentially a 1-0 win against a good team after a player-initiated meeting tells me a lot. I think we'll see a better overall game today compared to some of the losses this season.
Getting a win is the most important, but I would like to see the team put together a full 60 minute effort.
Not necessarily dominating all 60 minutes, but the parade to the penalty box starting at the end of the 1st period gave MTL life to start the second period, where we had a lot of sloppy play.
After this 3 game series, the Flames will not return to Winnipeg for the rest of the regular season. They still haven't even played a road game against 4 of the 6 other teams in the division.
