Exclamation [Video] Backlund's 2019/2020 Highlights. UPDATE: Part 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNrjjK1MUCI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww1wfYNQT6Y

2019-2020 Stats:
In 70 games: 16 goals + 29 assists = 45 points.
In 10 playoff games: 4 goals + 2 assist = 6 points.

Backlund with a slow start where it felt like nothing was going right offensively. He was moved to the wing for a stretch with Monahan and Gaudreau, trying to find some combinations throughout the team that worked. I thought he had pretty good chemistry with Monahan especially, but he asked Ward to move him back to centre to reunite with Tkachuk. Mangiapane became the permanent #2 RW following the Frolik trade (basically starting in the Part 2 video), and he also had good chemistry on the 2nd PP unit with Lucic especially.

His in-game rivalry with Marchand was maybe his highlight of the year, though his toedrag setup for Mangiapane in Nashville was downright disgusting (both are in Part 2). Backlund was our best offensive player down the stretch with 22 points in 16 games.

I'll have Backlund Part 2 out tomorrow or Thursday (but will just post it in this thread and updated the title). My planned order then is: Gio, Lucic, Gaudreau, Mangiapane, Comeback Wins, OT Wins, Rookies, Hanifin, Brodie.

Videos completed this off-season:
Andersson
Backlund Part 1
Backlund Part 2
Bennett Regular Season
Bennett Playoffs
Dube
Lindholm Part 1
Lindholm Part 2
Monahan Part 1
Monahan Part 2
Tkachuk Part 1
Tkachuk Part 2

So many smart plays, funny to think he heated up in the second part of the season so the second part should be even better!

Backs improved last season.

It’s a good lesson to those writing players off at any point during their development.

Thanks for the awesome videos this year AC, Happy New Year!

I love watching this guy score. Something about the way he gets pumped up after a goal gets me jacked up too.

Backlund is smart, is an excellent skater with breakaway speed, and with really soft hands and a great shot. I don't see any signs of a regression in his play as he turns 32.

Shoot me, but IMO, he is 100% part of this core and arguably is the forward on the team that most helps this team win night in and night out.

And one more thing...

Backlund LLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVEESS beating the #### out of tbe Oilers and the Canucks. He makes it seem as though it is his purest form of joy to beat these insufferable losers.

My 2nd favorite Backlund goal is the one man show self pass off the dasher end to end shenanigans party against Boston.

Only better goal Backs has ever scored was the short handed pick pocket in their (vancouvers) own end and scores.

Great job AC. The second half of Backlund’s season was simply sensational. Borderline elite. Easily the best stretch of hockey he’s ever played as a pro.

That’s great. I got a kick out of part 2, just a minute in, where Tanev and Markstrom jump Backlund

Lucky for them they don’t have to face him any more
