Most interesting is found out this morning was Sweden is underdog on the betting line. That seems impossible to me that Sweden would lose a round robin game.

They are still riding a multi-year unbeaten streak in the Round Robin portion of the tournament, right? It's pretty funny, I think, because despite that perfect record the best that Sweden has finished in the last eight events is second: since their last championship in 2012 they have won three silver medals (2013, 2014 and 2018) and one bronze (2020).

Heck, even Finland won 3 gold medals during this round robin "streak" by Sweden.

Not so. The last time Sweden lost a game was 31 December, 2006. It was a 3–2 OTL to USA. The last time Sweden lost in regulation was 26 December, 2006, when they were shut-out 2–0 by Canada.
In the fourteen years since they lost a game, Sweden has won one championship (2012), five silver medals (2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2018), and two bronze medals (2010, 2020). In the same period of time, Canada has won six championships (2007, 2008, 2009, 2015, 2018, 2020), Team USA has won three (2010, 2013, 2017), and Finland has won three (2014, 2016, 2019). Russia has also won only one championship, but they have won five silver medals in that time (2007, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2020), and five bronze medals (2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2019).

Sweden won it the year it was here in Calgary.
Canada lost 6-5 to the Russians in the semis (should have won, even though they were down 6-1 at one point).
Then Zibanejad won it for Sweden in the final.

The way things have fallen, Sweden has tended to end up in a pool like Canada is in this year where really you have one other hockey nation (These days Canada, Sweden, USA, Russia, and Finland are pretty much your consistent top 5 systems, the Czechs have fallen off in the past 20 years), plus one of the lesser hockey nations who had a good showing the previous, but lost all their players from last years team and don't have a very strong team this year. Plus two other fringe teams. So you get one game where you get a bit of a test, and maybe a bit of a scare by a team who has a hot goaltender.
But this can be a problem when you go up against the teams from the other pool who have had to play much more competitive games in their pool, and it's a different speed than what you've seen all tournament.
Another factor is that it seems like the Czechs, Russians, Slovaks, and to an extent the Germans seem to have have more hostility against each other given the history of those countries. It seems like the Czechs still come after Russia every year no matter what the state of the team is. So you don't have anyone outside of the top 5 counties who come out with that extra desire to beat the Swedes beyond normal competition.

Correct. And that one gold medal was nine years ago. Can you imagine the consternation in this country if Canada ever went nine years without a championship? Can you imagine how insane people would be if they were undefeated in the Round Robin in that time? There was a seven-year drought in the late nineties, but at least Canada was on the podium every year except one. Since Sweden last won the WJC, they have won four medals total in eight years.

Hahaha. Wow. Another fantastic sad by Slovak goalie Samuel Hla###.
[CHECKS HockeyDB] He's a 19-yar-old goalie who is playing his first season in North America. Playing behind the younger Simon Latkoczy means that he has been getting the heavier assignments against Canada and now Finland.
[EDIT] Unfortunately, his name last name will not fly past the relentlessly unforgiving CP swear filter.

The score is 3–0 for Finland, and the shots are 31–7, but Hla### is putting in an all-world performance. I wouldn't be surprised if this tournament earns him a NHL camp invitation.
