Without Kucherov, they may not even make the playoffs.

Lol only you would make a comment like this.
Without Kucherov, I would take the Lightning's roster over the majority of other teams rosters including Calgary.

They are literally still Vegas cup favorites WITH Kucherov out for the year. They are a powerhouse in a top heavy division.
Minnesota and Florida are not catching them

Vegas still has them over literally every other team in the league, tied with Colorado even after the Kucherov injury broke

I see you've uncovered my secret bias against the Tampa Bay Lightning, a partisanship so mysterious and confidential that even I know nothing about it.

How the hell do you just delay an athletes surgery up to 5 months when your country's healthcare system is pay to play? I dont know when he was injured, but the timing is suspicious.

A little early Christmas gift for ya.
We have re-signed Anthony Cirelli to a three-year contract worth $4.8 million AAV!

Is it not funny that EVERY SINGLE TIME a team has cap problems, a convenient LTIR bails them out. I can see it now, playoffs start, wow he comes back, who would of thought. Maybe this was a "nagging injury" that now he had to conveniently take care of.
So tired of this c$##&p. Our team plays by the rules and what does it get them, sweet nothing.
Zero respect for this franchise and their Stanley cups and first overall picks.

Hasn't Tampa only had 1 first overall pick in Stamkos? Hedman was #2 overall, Kucherov was a second rounder...
Lacavalier was a first rounder too in 98. That was so long ago though lol.

Nothing wrong with playing the system to your advantage.
They deserved to win the Cup this year and there is no COVID asterisk IMO as they probably would have won anyways.
2004 Cup win was horse$h#t tho.
The problem is the rules allow teams to manipulate tough situations to their advantage.
I respect the franchise but will forever hate them for robbing us.

Yah , you have to back a bit but both Lecavlier and Hamrlik were first overall.

I can absolutely guarantee that if the Flames were a perennial cup favorite, and they were coming off a championship season, and they were dealing with a cap crunch that would force them to get rid of key young talent, AND they found a way to maintain the team under the cap without getting rid of any key talent, everyone on CP would be happy that they were able to do so.
This is pure jealousy.
Is anyone here going to tell me with a straight face that if Lucic suddenly came down with a rash that allowed him to go on LTIR and for us to get a true offensive center/winger to supplement our team with that cap space, that anyone here would be upset about it. Does anyone think we would be focused on doing the honorable thing and honoring Lucic's contract without taking the LTIR relief?
Kucherov isn't playing for the full season. He may not be in adequate game shape by the time the playoffs roll around, so essentially you may be losing your top offensive forward for the year to a hip injury that requires surgery.
Okay, so you take lemons and you make lemonade. Sign the rest of the roster that you wouldn't be able to. People can bitch about the timing, but it's a business decision based on a health situation. If Kucherov could play at 100% and the injury would resolve itself with treatment, I can guarantee that he would be playing and that they would have to move some salary to sign some guys. They're just making the most out of the situation, and who can blame them? I wish all GMs for teams I cheered for were this shrewd. Everyone can do what they're doing. There's nothing in the CBA saying they can't. If it becomes that big of a problem, then amend the CBA next time around.
Jesus...the whining around here sometimes is unbearable.
