Habs trade for an injured Jack and Rant take it back.
Following a short rehab stint with “TheScorpian” Les Canadiens have swung for the fences on in their first deal in what appears to be an eternity.
Winning was getting too easy and sabotaging the lineup to add up losses wasn’t fun so the Habs decided to do it the old fashion way. Trade away sim chemistry.
The Habs sent away star RWs Mikko Rantanen and Brock Boeser in return for Brett Connolly, who’s grandparents reside in St. George’s NL just down the highway from GM Goffie”. The Habs also acquired injured star centre Jack Eichel.
GM Goffie had this to say on the deal.
“ We had an excess of good players on the right side and felt we could use an upgrade down the middle. I feel Rantanen will be a force for many years to come so I’m hoping Eichel pans out on a line with Kane and Huberdeau”
This will be an interesting deal as the Eichel is injured for another month and the Pens will get Rantanen and Boeser in action immediately.
Habs forwards will lineup as follows until Eichel gets back:
In terms of the deal. I think it makes sense for both sides.
Cheese gets 2 top line RFA aged forwards. One of which has been a PPG player for the last 3 years. Goffie gets the shiny young asset. Connolly is junk and I have already wasted too much time on talking about him.
I like it a bit more for the Pens as the sim will treat Eichel and Rantanen the same and he also gets Boeser.
