Default 2 Points are huge in the Howe Conf.

2 Points
Huge in the Howe Conference

The Howe Conference is shaping up to be a great race to the mid season, as seven points separate the top team and the eleventh team. The Avs who sit in thirteenth spot are only seven points away from a top eight showing and are riding a three game wining streak and climbing fast.

Three teams Wings, Blues and Jets all sit a single point out. Both the Jets and the Wings are playing above .500 in their last ten games. Of the eight teams currently holding a play off spot, they better hold on tight.

The Canucks continue their surge forward with a 7-2-1 record, followed by the OIL and the Preds with 7-3-0 records past ten. Clearly no team has taken charge of this conference making for a great mid season race.

The Jackets and Flames continue to play .500 hockey with 4–4-2 records past ten. And the Kings are in jeopardy of loosing their holdings on a play off spot, playing below .500 over the past ten.

It seems early in the season but if you are in the Howe Conference every point is huge.

Tighten up those chin straps, as the Howe Conference is going to be an intereting battle

Good write up.

It should be an interesting few weeks, especially with some many games and the fatigue factor coming in to play. Starting goalies needed to get some rest and this may impact the outcome of some games. Remember, having a rested goalie is very important. I think a few of us will vouch for that.

Definatly agree with that... a tired goaltender can kill you...
So when say the Devils come to town thats a good time to rest your star goalie......

Despite what the delusions of a certain GM may thing..

Mango I agree about a rested tender. DiPietro has been in the press box now 4 games and counting after I let him fall down to 95 CD.

What did you expect, things would have to be tight over there… after all you’re getting zero points every time you face a real team from the Gretzky Conference.
