Well looking at the Flames right side it’s easily the forward group that contributed the least offensively and has for years when comparing to our LW and Centers. Namestnikov would have been the 2nd best player statistically on the right side for us last year as a lefty who can play the right side but I agree in that he’s not light years ahead of Mangiapane. I’m still hoping we land a natural righty for the 2nd line allowing Mangiapane to slot down and play with Bennett and Dube.
Good for both parties. Namestnikov will get ice time and a reasonable amount of money then get traded to a contender at the deadline to make a run. Detroit gets a veteran warm body to play all year and then a mid pick at the deadline.
