Mike Hoffman Potentially to Edmonton?
After getting duped by a fake twitter account, the Fan 960 has checked with sources in Edmonton and is reporting there is a good chance Mike Hoffman will sign with the Oilers.
He would be scary with the Oilers. But...is that the focus they should have? You would think defense and goalie. But who knows. And I assume, if this happens, they would have to move someone like James Neal?

He’d play with McDavid and I would love it but then guys would need to be shipped out for the cap to fit.

Great sniper, plays with inconsistent energy. Not very good defensively.
Fits the Oiler's M.O. to perfection.

If this happens, they have to be out on Hall. I see Hoffman regressing in a few years though, so a risky signing by any team, depending on the term.

They need to move RNH to have any chance of cap room for Hoffman and a goalie.

Oh man, I hope so. It's just adding more of what they don't really need. They're already number one on the pp. What's the point of adding even more firepower on there? Just means even less money to ice a decent defence. Love it.

There's no way Edmonton is moving James Neal without attaching something significant to him as a cap dump.

Steinberg got caught with a fake account. But then apparently he said he checked in with "Edmonton sources", including Jason Gregor, who are reporting that there is a good chance of Hoffman to Edmonton.

I'm a GM and I know that the Oilers are desperate to move Neal, who's a brain dead bad contract. My ask is Bouchard or Boberg (sp?) and Neal for a 4th.
I would completely put the screws to them.
