Default Calgary Flames All Time Roster - 3rd Line Left Wing

So some details ...

1. Calgary players only
2. I'll look at games played, production and PPG to list options.
3. My cut off won't effect options as I'll go deeper than required
4. I'll label them by rank (3rd line LW) but don't select the player that matches that role the best, pick the best player.

Day to Day

We elect a position, say 2nd line RW, remove that name and do the 3rd line RW the next day.

I'll post a summary as we go along.

Calgary Flames All Time Roster

Gary Roberts - C1 - RW1
Johnny Gaudreau - C2 - RW2
LW3 - C3 - RW3
LW4 - C4 - RW4

D1 - D2
D3 - D4
D5 - D6

Miikka Kiprusoff
Mike Vernon

So two comments.

1. I think LW number four will be interesting ... a few different ways to go after the big three are off the board.

2. This should elect the second player from the current team to the list, and it looks pretty obvious that guy number three will be on the list when we get to the blueline. Wonder how many times we've had three on the roster at once and not gone on a run? 80s are obvious, but Regehr, Kiprusoff and Iginla had a run. This group?

Is vote shaming a thing? Are we allowed to point out that someone voted for Tanguay over Tkachuk?

I was really tempted to vote Tanguay over Tkachuk myself, so I don't think it's a stretch at all. People forget, but Tanguay was an elite passer and playmaker, and even became a pretty good penalty killer by the end. He didn't add much else though, so I see the appeal of Tkachuk over him who can do a little bit of everything. Plus, Tkachuk seems to be a strong leader and positive locker room presence, along with being a unique agitator on the ice.

Intangibles put Tkachuk over Tanguay for me, but it was close.

Tanguay is definitely the next choice for me. Went with Tkachuk this time.

I was pretty close to voting for Tanguay too, though Tkachuk gets this vote.

4th Line LW will be interesting though. People can justifiably argue for Cammalleri or Huselius too.
How are we handling players who might have played multiple positions?

Swap Gilmour for Conroy and Put Lanny in on RW?

Tanguay is 100% my next pick... but to me the fall-off after Tkachuck is pretty astronomical. It's like...

Roberts, Gaudreau, Tkachuk <----------------------------------------------> Everyone else

4th Line LW for me is Gelinas Vs. Cammalleri, not Tanguay.

Al MacInnis played RD. Regehr played LD. Gilmour was a centre.

For the love of God, why do I always think Gilmour is a RW? Countless times in my life, it's been "oh yeah, he's a C" yet every single time I think of him, I think of a RW.

While true, Tanguay, Cammalleri and Huselius all hold a special part in my heart.

I was too young to enjoy the days of Roberts.

I don't agree. Tanguay was dynamite for the Flames. It was frustrating when he would pass instead of shoot but he did put up some big numbers.

I know there is a lot more to it.. but Tanguay had higher PPG in his career than Roberts.

I would have put Tkachuk at 2 still, but that's just one man's opinion!

I thought about it for a second as he had an 81 point season for the Flames and had a nice career.
