Default FitBit advice

I want advice on Fitbit models and features. I want a heart rate monitor, step counter, exercise tracker, and sleep tracker. Other features (email notifications?) would be considered. Price is not an issue. I’d prefer a smaller face.

I'm LOVING my Garmin Vivoactive 3 the last 2 years. It does all the activity tracking I could possibly want from DH skiing, to XC skiing, running, swimming, biking, yoga, etc... plus that sleep tracking, notifications, and wifi stereo control.

I can't speak much to the models with small faces as I haven't had another since switching to the smart watch style a few years ago, but since price is no object I would recommend also getting one of the Aria smart scales. It's really nice having the integration of just standing on a scale like usual but having your weight and body fat percentage automatically updated in the same dashboard that's tracking your activity and sleep.

What you're asking for is pretty basic and should be easy to get something nice. HR monitor isn't always the most accurate though. Sleep monitor is pretty awesome though.

I forgot which fitbit model my wife has, but it's pretty small. One thing I did note though is that apparently there's a few models that have battery issues. My wife's fitbit crapped out within a year of ownership but she got a replacement.

I'd also suggest swapping out the default strap to something nicer/trendier.

The Garmin vivo lines is pretty good as well. They have one that is battery powered that should last around a year.

I've had a Fitbit Charge 3 for 18 months. Small face with lots of options for 3rd party straps. Does all the things you're asking for plus I've swam laps with it so it has good water resistance. I get about a week for battery life; recharges in less than an hour.

I'm pleasantly surprised at the sleep tracker as it appears to be pretty accurate. Also, my experience with the heart rate monitor has been excellent. I have a chest strap monitor and they both display the same heart rate even at high rates. I've never had a time where they didn't both show the same heart rate within one beat/min.

I'm currently in the middle of a 90 day free Fitbit Premium trial offer. It's good and has additional information on my sleep patterns but I doubt I'll extend it when the offer is done.

I've got a Versa Lite.

I know I only use about 5% of its capabilities but I love the step counter and sleep tracker.

I just got a Fitbit Versa 2 to replace my very old Fitbit HR. Not the smallest face, but I find it sits nicely on my wrist. The display is quite nice seems to hold a charge for 4 days or so. I’ve been happy with it so far.

I have had the charge 2 for 2 years now and so far it has been great. My protective outer screen is cracked but that is my fault for wearing it to work. Mine is small, not bulky at all.

For me the best part is trending the data it gathers. If you start to slack/skip On your workouts your resting HR will start to rise. For me it keeps me honest. The sleep tracker is nice to look at too. Overall it’s my go to diagnostic tool for my overall health.

I have the Charge 3 and like it a lot. The steps, stairs, sleep, and heart rate portions are probably what I use most.

The Charge 4 has built in GPS so you can take a run or bike without your phone and still have accurate data.

I have a Versa and love it. Use it to track my walks and steps and sleep. First thing I do in the morning is look at how I slept.

I have the Fitbit Inspire HR. It crosses off all the check boxes you listed. Battery life is great too. I charge it every 6-8 days and it charges quickly. In comparison, I had a Flex and I was charging it every 3 days.

I've had a habit of wrecking watches and stopped wearing them but the Fitbit Inspire HR has lasted me over a year and has been quite resilient.

I had a Fitbit and was incredibly unimpressed with the GPS accuracy when running. My times and distances where too far off for me to be happy.

As much as I don't like Apple iPhones, I have to have one for work and therefore bought an Apple Watch. It's far superior to the Fitbit in basically every way.

That being said, I've also had a Samsung Gear Sport which was fantastic for running.

Thanks for all of the comments and recommendations. I’m leaning toward the Fit Bit Inspire HR which has been recommended here.

My question is the price is quite a bit lower than something like the Charge 4, so is it as good as the higher-priced Charge 4? Is seems to fit the bill (pardon the pun) based on what I’m reading here.

I don’t need GPS which the Charge 4 has.

Based on your needs, it should be fine. The functions you're concerned with are the basics that Fitbit has been doing well for years.
