We have completed a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
To Toronto:
D Alex Pietrangelo
W Phil Kessel
To NYI:
D Marcus Pettersson
F Tyler Benson
F Anders Bjork

2020 2nd (DAL)
Pretty happy with this trade, big fan of Pettersson who looks like a young star in the making on Pittsburgh's defense. Benson is a good playmaking winger, Oiler or not, who was a high second a couple years ago. Bjork is an NHLer who gets better every year.
Then, the picks. The 2nd this year is the 51st overall pick and the 1st next year belongs to Toronto. Always love adding picks.
The biggest part of this deal is the salary -- Kessel makes $7 million and Pietrangelo makes $9 million. Not that they haven't earned those salaries, but I'm more than happy to clear $16 million of cap space to maybe pursue some UFAs.
Thanks to Quigz for the deal. I'm sure Pietro and Kessel will play great in Toronto.
