Two names standout.
Trevor Kidd had the tenure, but his era happened to be a time I was least engaged with the Flames- living out of town on teams that underachieved, the names and memories don't stick out. McAmmond on the hand while only here for 2 seasons (and had some truncations to his service- like the weird McAmmond trade rule and the 04 playoff injury) really played for Flames teams that were the opposite of the Kidd era- they overachieved and brought great memories- first his season playing alongside Iggy when he was the league's dominant skater, and then the 04 team that won the city's heart. The picture of McAmmond when that season was over was a fairly iconic representation of that club.
Drury- no comment unfortunately. what could have been
Ortio- meh. too bad for him he might have won 35 or 36

This guys style (in appearance) was out of this world for goalies. Loved it as a young goalie myself.

I went with Kidd over McAmmond ...
McAmmond was here, gone, back, hurt ... only two incomplete seasons. Kidd while never a favourite of mine was the starter or tandem sharer for four straight seasons.

Kidder. Mostly because I still have this little gem sitting around to remind me everyday:

When I think of 37 - I think of McAmmond
So on that basis it goes to him.

Had to go with McAmmond because of my resentment towards Kidd. It wasn't his fault the Flames traded.up to pick him before Brodeur but I resent him nonetheless.

As a graduate of the Trevor Kidd goaltending school I have to vote for him. That's how cults work.

I was 50/50 on voting for Kidd or McAmmond. Kidd gets the nod for tenure, being a starting goaltender, and having that one good year in 1994/95 (before the playoffs anyway). McAmmond was a really positive difference maker during his time, but didn't stick around too long (he scored 20 goals one year!).
Looks like my 50/50 sentiment was correct as it's a dead heat between these two.

Nice! I've got the Roy one but I wish I had the Kidd one. It's nice that it's hollow so I could use it as a stash before I had my own place.

I was never a big Kid fan but he was the franchise goaltender for a few years which is more worthy to me than a part time winger.

Is this the only contested vote so far? Seems like the rest were pretty lopsided (for 1st any way)

Went with Kidd just for nostalgia purposes. And I really liked McAmmond during his time here. Kidd along with my usernamesake was like a superhero to me as a kid. Crazy pads and mask and acrobatic style...it was enough to win my shallow young fandom. I still have the McDonalds mask (along with several others) and that Molson Cup poster with the jerseys of past winners. Very cool. Would it be fair to say he “jumped the shark” in the ‘95 playoffs? Was the popular opinion that it was his time to take the net after ‘94?

All I remember of Lynn Loyns' short stint were his relatives in the Saddledome stands holding up "Our Loyns Are On Fire" placards.

The 98-03 Flames were a tough time to be a fan. McAmmond being a part of Iggy's breakout to being elite is a worth a vote.

Kidd always laid on the ice for an excessively long time after a routine save, it was ridiculous.
McAmmond all the way.

McAmmond - Conroy - Iggy was a great 1st line during Iggy's 52 goal season.
He also inspired the great quote from Darryl about his OT goal: "Deano froze Weino… and drug it upstairs"
