More $ than the deal they just signed Joonas Korpisalo to. I’m a little surprised by that. I thought CBJGM would position Elvis as the backup to Korpisalo. At least to start the year. I guess not?
I see Elvis as the eventual #1 in Columbus. He is quirky as hell but seems to handle pressure well. Should be a hell of a training camp battle.
I wouldn't have given him that much money, but if he plays up to his ability it could be a great number for the Jackets for a couple years. They've got their tandem signed for less than Bob alone cost the Panthers. Term is fine otherwise.
This is a stupid contract that probably makes rittich more expensive
If Rittich is more expensive than this I'd be tempted to let him walk and find a replacement elsewhere. He starts years off good, but when the games get more important later in the year he can't keep it up, multiple years in a row now.

I still think it is too early to close the book on Rittich, but I also struggle with the idea of paying him in the range of $4.0 m AAV. It's a good thing he is under contract for another year.
