heading into this vote the only name that really stood out was McCarthy and now that I have seen the list the only other one i really gave a thought to was Lavallee- he was always sort of the butt of the joke as he missed the net with ridiculous regularity but he made the NHL right out of junior and had a 30 goal season with the Flames, likely he's the better player but Sandy was closer to the top dog at his role so went with him
I had to vote for Marty. He was easily the most talented player to wear this number. I HATE that he won a cup with the Bolts. HATE it. But if I am completely honest, he is also beyond measure for this jersey number.
Love Sheehy he made Gretzky crazy when on the ice. Still remember game 3 of the Smythe division final from the dome in 86. Gretzky was yelling at the ref complaining about Sheehys antics. The crowd was screaming whiner over and over, then Sheehy blows Gretzky a kiss.
Location: Wondering when # became hashtag and not a number sign.

Tough choice for me here.
McCarthy was a beast...but Simon was to, and could play the game straight up at a pretty decent level but he wasnt a flame very long....same as most of this list.
McCarthy is the most iconic Flame on this list, IMO. Simon was a beast in the 04 run which counts for a lot, but McCarthy was a beast for years and was a favorite of mine as a kid.

Unfortunately, he did all that while wearing #5. He only wore #15 on his second stint with the Flames in 1991-92, when he played 35 games for the first Flames team to miss the playoffs since they moved to Calgary.

This is one horrible number in Flames history. Leaning McCarthy, but, on the other hand, nobody could ring a slap shot off the glass like Kevin Lavallee.
