You have a magic dial to go back or forward in time, but you only can do it ONCE and must come back to now in ONE DAY.
Where would you choose to go for one day and why?
MODS: if it's not to much to ask, could you please attach a "backward/forward" poll. Thank you.

If I wanted to be greedy I would go forward for a day to see the future and use the information to make money. But I miss my dog so I'd rather go back so I could spend another day with him.

I would go back in time to March 30 of the year 2000. My father passed away on that date due to Colon Cancer. I would have stayed in the room and held his hand as he took his last breath.

If you go back can you change the past to mess up the future
If you go to the future will your actions in the present be able to change that outcome.

Go Forward 100 years, should be connected enough to our time that I'll be able to wrap my head around the world I'm stepping into, and that I'll be able to use knowledge gained from there to enrich my own future. That way I'll know if I can get lazy and rich, or if I should prepare myself and ancestors for the coming mole people invasion.
My heart wants to see dinosaurs.

(A)
Go forward a day, learn the winning lotto numbers, set my family up for the rest of our lives. or
(B)
Go back in time and see relatives that have passed on one more time.
As I think of it, I'd probably do (A) as it benefits my family directly, whereas (B) only really benefits me.
In (A), you go to the future, learn the numbers, go back in time and purchase a ticket.
Now when the lottery officials are about to draw, they read out the official stats of the lottery, instead of saying there were 10,592,659 tickets sold in the original timeline, they now say there was 10,592,660 tickets sold. That slight change is all it takes to affect the numbers are they now draw two milliseconds earlier with different results. You just wasted your time travelling.
And here I am, selling TP at 5x the price I paid for it making bank off mine.
I'd go forward 100 years to see where we've progressed. Maybe humanity is wiped out by then, who knows.
On that note, is it safe to say that humans never invent time travel? I mean, if we did, we should be running into at least some time travelers in our present time right?
If the comet killed all the dinosaurs, wouldn't it kill you too?
You'd have to be REALLY unlucky to get there for that exact day! Unless, of course, experiencing for yourself the giant comet hitting the earth and wiping out everything was your one and only goal.
