A win today makes for a very good road trip. No excuse not to win today against a floundering Panthers team that is probably better off at this point forgetting about the playoffs and tanking for a better draft pick. Grab us two points boys! GFG!

Let's take them to the brink and see what happens in the final second.

Predicting a 6-5 SO win where both teams give up multi-goal leads. Also predicting most of the scoring comes from the bottom half of the roster - a Forbort point shot off a defenseman, a goalie giveaway to Jankowski, a PP goal off Lucic's foot, that sort of thing.

Getting into must win territory. Barring a monumental collapse by either the Canucks or three of the other 4 teams vying for the two wild card positions, the Flames likely have to win 11 of their remaining 16 games. Hopefully they get it done today.

Panthers haven’t been great lately. We played less than 24hrs ago. 1-0 in the SO.

Panthers haven't been playing well which is a concern as the Flames have shown to play down to the level of their opponent this season. They weren't actually that bad yesterday outside of poor special teams and mediocre goaltending so a similar effort with better special teams and a goaltender making a few timely saves and they can win this one. I'm not sure if I trust Talbot a lot more than Rittich but one of these guys needs to take the ball and run with it if this team is going to make the playoffs.

I think we need to give CT a few consecutive starts. Not only to see where he's at, but to let Rittich press reset and refocus. He's been very emotional in the last number of games but I must say it's been to his detriment. I think he has to get back to basics and work it out in practice for a bit... build up some hunger for the net duties and come back better, calm in the crease and dialed in as he was early on.

I'm setting this as the make or break game. If they lose I'm throwing in the towel on a playoff appearance.

The bottom 6 hasn’t provided much lately.

I thought the 3rd line had a good shift with sustained pressure last game but they were kept to the perimeter so I don’t put too much value in it.

I think they need to experiment with the chemistry Dube and Bennett seem to have because we need more from the depth lines.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Backlund-Mangiapane
Bennett-Ryan-Dube
Lucic-Jankowski-Reider

Florida played 3 hours after the Flames did yesterday and the game went to OT so we kinda have that advantage

Panthers had a 4pm start and the game went into OT. They also played Bobrovsky so the Flames should get a backup. Prime opportunity for a 6-2 win.

Must be new around here. Primetime for their backup goalie to have the game of his career. If a milestone is remotely reachable, it will be reached this afternoon, and they will probably score a goal that is not explainable besides, "Wow, that was odd"

I agree more is needed from the bottom six. They haven’t played badly, but they haven’t done as much to make a difference either.

Perhaps now is the time to reunite Bennett between Lucic and Dube... not crazy about Jankowski-Ryan-Rieder’s but at least they’ll be defensively responsible, and who knows if Ryan can get them going as well.

4-1 Flames. Talbot stakes his claim to start the first game of the home stand. Ward doesn’t call a timeout in this game either.

GFG!

Thats why I didn’t mention which team will win 6-2.

I'll watch. Not much heart in me left for this craptastic team and coach.

One of them being crap is something...both of them being crap is exhausting. And the same old same old comments post-game..."Gee, we've gotta be better, stronger on the puck, need to bring our best game...blah, blah, blah." Either do it or say "We sucked."

Hope they woke up early today...they're playing a team with an almost identical record that is primed to beat them.
