I guess he's cheap, but why would you bring him back, he's offensively non existant.
It looks like the Oilers believe that this years roster with its unsustainable luck and power play is a contenda and they're bringing it back.

I guess the Oilers need to fill out a roster next year and he is cheap but I don't get the timing on this signing. There is no need to extend 4th liners/replacement level players to one year contracts during the season. Wait until the off season and then make your roster decisions. Seems like a team desperate to give their fans any good news after the McDavid injury.
