I like Robinson's game. Hope he can rejoin the team later this season.

Robinson > Dube (and most of our bottom 6 for that matter)

well he's definitely bigger

I know there is recency bias, but Dube is coming off a pretty nice showing in Vancouver. he is 6 years younger and has outperformed Robinson statistically head to head the last couple of year on Stockton,

I didn't see as much out of Robinson as some other people did - although again I do see the merit in a bit more size in the lineup

I very much disagree. I thought Robinson really started to look out of place after his first game. He was among the weakest players on the team.

I'm not sure Buddy would've ever gotten a call up if he wasn't Johnny's friend. Probably thought he could turn Johnny's frown upside down.

For a team that seems intent on cycling, Robinson was effective. Not a perfect player, but a good complimentary player that helps fill a need on the team. With that being said, he wasn't effective enough consistently, and this is why he is being sent down. I bet he will be recalled again this season, however, and rightfully so.

Really? He's Stockton's leading goal scorer.

I'm not sure I would agree completely, but then again I think they bring a different type of game. I think Dube has more ceiling and raw talent and we have to keep in mind one guy is 28 versus the other at 21. Buddy should be markedly better with that age difference both mentally and with weight/strength.

I liked Buddy's game and think it's something that the flames need more of, a big guy on the RW who also has some speed but can grind it out on the boards. But I think he looked to be losing some of that speed after the first game, a little bit more each game. Perhaps it's just me but I wouldn't be surprised if this was a good taste of where he needs to be conditioning and intensity/mentality wise in the big show. I hope he goes back and lights it up making a case for a return.

I'm indifferent to Robinson. He didn't look out of place but he wasn't really making the team better either. To be honest I'd send Rieder down as well and call Czarnik up.

I'm excited to see what the likes of Andersson and Kylington can do with legitimate top 4 opportunity. I swear though... if Ward just bumps Stone up and keeps Brodie on the left and shifts Davidson over to the right side...

I would've liked to see Robinson in the bottom 6, not the top 6

Robinson is the 'type' of player that the Flames need to play with Gaudreau and Monahan. However, he is not nearly skilled enough to be that player.

Buddy is 28 and can't skate at the NHL level. There isn't going to be a career there.

He's fast enough in a straight line, but his edge work is bad.

The fact that a 6'6" guy with some degree of talent is still in the AHL at 28 when the NHL is a league that absolutely loves their size is a huge tell.

Robinson is a guy that you can insert and he will have a great game on adrenalin and excitement. Same with Rinaldo IMO. But he's not a day to day guy, at least not on a top 6 line. Dube is a player of the future for Calgary. He comes out from time to time to see the game from up high and because he's not used to the grind yet, but he needs to be in more often than not for development. Plus he's really good defensively especially for his age.

I find it hard to worked up over who's on the 4th line/press box/AHL. Those decisions are not moving the needle on this team's performance.

A lot of teams never call up their AHL leading scorer. Ours just happened to check ever box of team need.
