If Lucic isnt able to pop guys in the yap anymore without suspensions looming, he literally serves no other purpose to this team

Definitely popped him pretty good, but also had his glove on and Sherwood was pitchforking Rittich. Wouldn't be surprised to see a fine. He already popped Zadorov this year. The league might want to make a point so he stops doing it.

Lucic can be tough without glove-on sucker punching someone. He is probably the the player most likely to Bertuzzi someone one day.

We finally have a #1G. Lucic is under contract for four more years, and has three points on a $5.4M cap hit.
I don't give a #### if that guy misses a game or two or ten if it's because he keeps punching guys in the face who #### with our team.
Get em, Looch.

The kid was starting to run around earlier in the game and I thought his hit on Kylington was borderline as he hit him in the numbers.

Lifetime Suspension
|
^^Yea I noticed that, that punk had it coming, hopefully he is feeling the pain. Lucic can end your career on one play, and you better be aware of where he is on the ice. Lucic may get rested by the NHL for the second night of a back to back, it’s good timing for a short suspension.

I ####ing love seeing a guy stand up for the goalie like that. But a hearing does seem fair.
If that's a suspension its a suspension you take every time

Lucic being suspended barely matters in the grand scheme of things. The Flames were probably looking to rotate Rieder back into the lineup at some point in the next couple of games, anyway.

Missed the entire game, just saw the incident in question...loved it! Don't aggressively spear our goalie especially when Looch on the ice if you don't want to get checked...lesson learned.
I don't care what Twitter and their advanced stats spreadsheets tell them, this is exactly what the Flames have been missing. Go get em, Looch!

I saw it, didn't like it. Lucic was probably just frustrated because he stole the puck from him seconds before. He barely even touched Rittich.

The punch of Zadorov was much more flagrant.
Wait until one of those pitchforks hurts a goalie for a legit injury.
The refs call was correct. They called a penalty for the pitchfork, which they were unlikely to do if Lucic didn't take matters into his own hands.
CBJ didn't have an answer and looked disinterested after that of playing at all physical. Lucic did his job. Glad we have a guy that will not really care if it means protecting a teammate.
Been a long time since we had a player like that, or, a coach that would allow that. (as an example, will never forget Hartley for not allowing a Flame to take on Ference for his cowardly forcing Lee Stempniak into a fight, nevermind later that game, but not the future games that season).

I said this after game one and I still believe it. It works in Lucic and the teams favour if guys on other teams know Lucic might lose it on them without notice and without agreeing to a fight. What good is it if guys know they can do whatever they want as long as they don't agree to drop the gloves?

This is exactly why we got Lucic, this is what he brings to the team. He'll likely get a game a game suspension or a fine, but I have no problem with what he did. He protects his teammates and goalie. This is definitely a deterrent the other teams knowing Lucic is out there

I like it, take a poke at the goalie and you get dropped.

Weird. I was thinking tonight that I missed Hartley for his impact on Torts alone
