We used Call Jamie Painting & Drywall Services last summer to paint our deck as well as the wood accents on our house exterior. Very happy with the work. You can also check Homestars.com to see reviews of contractors.

Student Works Painting, or another university/college painting team. With the semester over, they should be going door to door offering free quotes.

Platinum Pro Painting. Ask for the crew with Frank on it.
They painted my place a couple summers ago and did a fantastic job. Patched (which was a large job due to the previous owners beating up the wall pretty bad) and painted about 1300sgft for $2,100. Also paid a little extra as I had four colours.

I don't think they do. We found them on Homestars and e-mailed them for a quote (along with another company). They were prompt to respond and gave us a pretty reasonable quote to boot.

What is the ballpark cost painting the entire interior of a typical 2,000sqft house?

Painting is a hard cost to pin down. I can't recommend any good painters any more. But whoever you hire you should have a clear understanding of what you want done for the cost. Do they protect your floors, move your furniture, etc? Are you doing a single coat of a similar color or two coast of a new color. Are they fixing holes, smoothing walls? Are they spraying baseboard and trim or rolling and brushing? And is the paint they use any good or just watered down cheap stuff? If they're not spraying the millwork there are better paints to use that don't show brush strokes as much. And do they come back for touch ups? That's an important one to get clear before they start.

I would say around $2000-3000 depending on your house. Depends on a lot of things and really you can't give an accurate estimate until you see the house. Does it have high walls? 10 ft ceilings all around? A lot of patch work? So much variables to give an accurate quote.
In general I'd say $1.25 is a fair quote for interior wall re-paints and that should include everything. Make sure they use Benjamin Moore paints and not some cheap Cloverdale product. If anyone is painting their own house and wants a deal on high quality paint PM me and I will order it for you.

That seems really low to me. Never had my house painted but I have paid for my office I think it was around $2.50+ /sqft. And I would assume office have allot less walls allot less cutting in general.

An office that's only around 120 Sq ft would obviously cost more as no one is going to come out for a 4 hour job and only charge $150. Cleanup time and setup time wouldn't be worth charging the same for a small office. An entire home though you can't charge $2.50.
New construction homes you can find guys to do it for .70 cents but that's with no furniture in the way and no floors to cover.
Source: I'm a professional painter.
And that's not to say there aren't guy charging that much but they're way over priced. And I'd honestly stay away from the big guys as they just sub their work to the guys who do the job for half the price. Why pay the middle men?

If anyone finds a painter who for an all in quote says they'll paint a 2000 sq. ft. house's interior for $2000.00 or even $3000,00, I'd suggest you go to another quote, you're in for trouble.
EDIT: Consider the posts below.

Please do. I've seen 100s of painting invoices in the last 6 to 10 years.
Maybe you are either really efficient or undervaluing your own labour, or both.

Looks great. If you are considering more work PM your company name to me please. I've seen insurance quotes (expected to be high, but seen many and they have competing quotes), P3 Quotes, small builder's quotes (as many of the custom builders in town get), and renovation quotes (admittedly, my own), and if that's the price, spread it around.
EDIT: Assuming the price of course. I did send you a PM, would like to know more. The price does not seem to allow for the cost of a good painter... IMHO
