		| Riding their best start since the 2014-15 season, the Ducks (6-2-0) will look to finish their three-game homestand on a high note as they host the Calgary Flames (4-4-1) at Honda Center. (6 p.m. PT, TV: Prime Ticket, Radio: AM 830). The Ducks come in with a four-game home winning streak that matches the best start in club history - done three times - and the first since 2014-15, and have established a franchise record for the fewest goals allowed through the first eight games of a season (14). The Ducks are coming off a 4-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night, with Adam Henrique, Troy Terry, Jakob Silfverberg and Carter Rowney providing the offense. Making his second start of the season, Ryan Miller turned aside 22 of 24 shots to improve his record to 2-0.

		| This marks the opener of a four-game series between the Ducks and Flames, and one of two at Honda Center. The Ducks own an all-time record of 60-40-9 against the Flames, including a 39-9-6 mark at home. They've gone 13-5-0 vs. Calgary dating to Nov. 24, 2015 and 35-13-12 since Nov. 29, 2007. Ryan Getzlaf leads active Ducks in career scoring vs. Calgary with 61 points (18g/43a) in 54 games.
The Flames tonight close out a back-to-back set that began with a 4-1 loss last night in LA. Like the Hurricanes on Friday, the Flames found themselves down by four goals until Mikael Backlund scored on a penalty shot with 2:10 remaining in regulation. It marked Calgary's third straight road loss, but snapped a two-game winning streak. Goaltender David Rittich allowed four goals on 28 shots in two periods before Cam Talbot took over for the third.

Johnny Gaudreau (seven points, 3g/4a) and Matthew Tkachuk (seven points, 2g/5a) co-lead the club in scoring through nine games, while Rittich is 4-3-1 with a 2.84 goals-against average and .912 save percentage in eight appearances. Talbot is 0-1-0 with a 2.34 GAA and .892 SV% in two appearances this season, his first with the Flames.

History aside, this should be as motivated a group going into a B2B as there is. Talbot has an average record against Anaheim which I'll take. The big concern are potential injuries from last night (Bennett?) and line combos/pairings which could kill potential chemistry.

I think you will see the typical Dr. jekyl and Mr Hyde effect the Flames seem to do. I expect a big win tonight.

Ducks are fast! If the Flames can weather the initial storm, I hope for success. However, a 60 minute effort should be the minimum.

I'm expecting a big game from Talbot tonight. The rest of the team? Who knows. Cassie made a good point about the Flames struggling against the bigger teams again so far this year even with Lucic so we will see.
Ducks are always a pain in the arse. And in the Honda center too. We may have broken the curse but it's still a bad place for the Flames.

I put a lot of emphasis on the importance of Divisional points in the regular season. We only have 3 out of a possible 11 so far. These Pacific points are so key to locking up a top seed. Still early but they need to turn it around in a hurry.

October flames playing in Anaheim on the second night of a back to back? Think I’ll just check the score and highlights (if there are any) later.

Brilliantly played sir. Well done. Pun for the win.

Edit: shouldn't it be 12 instead of 10? They were 1-3-1 in the pacific last night during the game.i still made the mistake of posting 11 but 1-4-1 after the loss last night?

No. This is wrong. Vancouver, VGK, SJ, LA x2 after last night is five games. The Flames are heading into Anaheim with a 1-3-1 Divisional record.

I will bet the farm that they lose again tonight, but I hope I'm wrong.
