Good signing. He'll bounce back and still my pick to take over Ovechkin as top sniper in a few seasons.

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
Jets had offered around 2 x 6 last week and Laine’s camp had countered with 2 x 7-plus and they found compromise in 2 x 6.75 aav

Makes sense. Elite talent, but still learning how to be an elite player.

Hurt himself by putting up only 50 points in the contract year

Good deal for the Jets

Nothing like a loss to the Oilers even in pre-season to force the issue.

Am I the only one who thinks this kid is extremely overrated? Elite shot and that is it. This will be his last contract with winnipeg I bet

It sounds like a deal for Mikko Rantanen could happen fairly soon as well...

Seems like bridge deals are becoming a more common thing again, although at higher cap hit than they used to be. I like it, gives team and players more flexibility
