Icon27 Stars sign Corey Perry (1 yr, $1.5 mil + $1.75 mil performance bonuses)

Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli
Corey Perry is heading to the Dallas #Stars on a one-year deal. Expectation is a $1.5 million salary with performance bonuses attainable. #TSN

Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli
Perry likely left some money on the table in base salary. His base salary is $1.5 million, with another $1.5 to $2 million expected in performance bonuses for games played and playoffs. #sjsharks and #tblightning were among the teams in hardest on him at the end.

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Corey Perry's bonuses in DAL could take him up to $3.25M on a one-year deal

Not scared of a broken down 34 year old Perry.

Excellent. My hatred for Dallas and Corey Perry converge.

I thought teams and players weren't allowed to talk money until July 1? I know they do because at 10:00:05 they're announcing a dozen signings, but we've had quite a few "announcements" broken to us via media that include terms of contract.

They can talk money, but nothing can get official until tomorrow.

Dallas is still despite the two signings today, very much a team to me on the outside looking in. That defence doesn't look deep enough for starters. Forwards need more depth which Perry may be able to help with, but I think it goes beyond that that they need more help. I love Jim Nill as he's certainly authentic and a good talent evaluator from his Detroit days, but man he's been chugging along slowly in Dallas.

Agreed. The difference between them missing or them being in a wildcard spot will be if Bishop can repeat his amazing season

Bishop likely won’t stay heAlthy. And losing Zucc and adding those 2. Meh. Pavelski is good. Not how good ?

Khudobin is good too. They are strong at the goalie position.

At 1.5 million this is a great gamble to see how he rebounds.

Can the performance bonuses be anything? Ie. Can you sign someone for 1 million a year with a 2 million dollar bonus that kicks in if they play say ten games? Therefore allowing the team to basically postpone the cap hit for a year?

I honestly paid little to no attention to the Ducks last year. Is Corey Perry not at least 3rd line quality? Because if he is this contract seems like a steal. You have to think he's good for 10 goals and 35 points this year, no?

All the veterans belong to Dallas. Perry, Pavelski and Sekera. Stars are busy this year.
