I just turned on the keyboard shortcuts today... they are awesome! And actually pretty intuitive if you know how to use vi. I also just discovered that you can import your outlook contacts etc.

Gmail blows my mind a little more every day.

Its so they have control over the infrastructure load. They know right now what they can handle, so the send out only enough invites so they know their system will for sure be able to handle it. A public realease would be a pretty hefty hit for a couple days on their systems.

1 gig of email and i can't have an address book.

^ disable your popup blocker for that site. The built in popup stopper with XP SP2 is really good for that.
