Did anyone else watch this tonight on FX? I thought it was absolutely brilliant, very unique, deceptively funny and absurdly interesting. It was created for FX by Noah Hawley (Fargo), it's based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and is connected to the X-Men film series. If you missed it the pilot episode is being replayed Wednesday, February 15th at 6:30 on FX (channel 267 on Shaw)
Premise:
David Haller was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age, and has been a patient in various psychiatric hospitals since. After Haller has an encounter with a fellow psychiatric patient, he is confronted with the possibility that there may be more to him than mental illness.

Like I said I the comic book thread I found it pretty strange to start with. However, since watching breaking bad, I knew to stick with a show for a few episodes and then decide. Turns out just needed to wait a bit during episode 1. Really enjoyed it and I do not know anything about the comics as I never read any as a kid
It is filmed like no other tv show that I can think of. The effects and the camera angles alone kept me interested. I have no idea what's going on after one episode but I'll stay with it for a few more.
Haven't watched it and was planning on waiting for the entire season to air before starting but rethink that. Listening to the NPR podcast Fresh Air this morning Legion was given such a growing review I'll probably end up checking it out now.
Show creator and runner Noah Hawley isn't afraid of a challenge. He also created and continues to run the Fargo show.
Saw it... loved it. I wonder if they're going to have him have Dissociative Identity Disorder like they did in the comics or if it'll only be something resembling Schizophrenia.
Either way I'm watching. Great creative team, great cast, great soundtrack.
I'm not going to be able to watch last night's episode until later today. I thought last week's episode was a nice step towards unraveling some of the mysteries in the show.
Didn't know anything about Legion before jumping into this series, was recommended by a friend.
I can't be bothered with all the other "Network / Polished" comicbook TV series.
This one looks and feels different, something unique in an over-saturated genre.
I'm a couple episodes in and both me and the girlfriend are really enjoying it.
I've really enjoyed this. Something different for sure.
Not a huge fan of the female lead though, although to be fair the role isn't much either.
Anyone else notice how the world in that series doesn't actually fit with any real-world timeline? It's quite subtle, but obvious enough that it has to be deliberate. Cool stuff.
So any idea who the fat blobby monster is inside David's head? Is it Mojo or someone similar?
Spoilers for comic book knowledge that may not have been broadcast in the TV show:
Spoiler!
Looks like the Shadow King. It's an entity that attaches itself to various psychic mutants. It doesn't have a physical form itself, so it would make sense that it would attack David to project itself into the real world.
Don't think it's Mojo. Mojo doesn't walk or have a human body. Mojo also has yellow skin, 4 fingers, cybernetics coming from his head, etc.. The only similarity is the fat face and the eyes.
Have not watched the latest episode, so this is just speculation. I've heard they actually reveal the identity in the latest episode.
