That’s good to see. I would like to see Bennett on the power play.

Wouldn't shock me to see Rittich in the starter's net to throw some intrigue into the mix

I have a strange feeling that Rittich may actually start Game 1. Bill Peters will throw everyone off including the Avalanche.

As much as I would like you to be right I don't see it.

It would be a smart move. He's played them the best, easily. And the Avs have probably spent their time studying Smith's tendencies anticipating him to start (With the Gillies call up hinting at a Rittich tweak).

Bill maybe with some tricks up his sleeve going in.

I would expect that the Avs are probably prepared for either goalie, as are the Flames.

Shutouts in games 1 and 3, only 2 goals against in the rest of the series (a sweep by the Flames). CP explodes even more, just differently.

... sorry. I was dreaming there.

Rantanen is also in a regular jersey at Avs practice. Was in a non-contact jersey previously.

I already gave my thanks but just know that for an out of town Flames fan, the Practice Notes threads are amazing.

Wes Gilbertson @WesGilbertson
#Flames starting goalie update: Ask tomorrow.
(All signs point to Mike Smith, but coach Bill Peters will wait to confirm it.)

Go with the Smith. Best playoff save percentage out of all active goalies with 10 or more games played. BOOM!

Can this be a headgame? Like... put him in a regular jersey with strict no-contact instructions for everyone?

I guess that would be tough to do if they were scrimmaging or something.

Tkachuk - Bennett - Neal

Hopefully not at any point. If the lines remain intact that will mean that things are going well.

Really doesn't matter. First chance Bennett, Neal or Hathaway get to lower the boom on Rantanen, they will do it.

I imagine the potential risks far outweigh the benefits
