The American Hockey League announced today that Stockton Heat forward Dillon Dube has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending March 10, 2019.
Dube scored four goals – two of them shorthanded – and added three assists for seven points in three games for the Heat last week.
On Wednesday night in San Diego, Dube set up the tying goal and scored the go-ahead marker late in the second period to send Stockton to a 7-5 victory over the Gulls. On Friday, Dube scored shorthanded to help the Heat deal Bakersfield a 4-1 defeat, snapping the Condors’ 10-game road winning streak. And on Sunday, Dube had a hand in all four Stockton scores with two goals and two assists during a 5-4 shootout loss at San Jose.

Hopefully he continues to do well to finish off the AHL season. Put on some more muscle in the off-season and be prepared to take a role in the NHL next season.
Could tell later into the preseason that he was no longer dominating against the better competition, but he clearly has the skills. The kind of game that translates into the big leagues well, even if he doesn’t put up points. I would be surprised if he doesn’t spend most of next year with the team

He's among some really good company in terms of his scoring pace and age.
I'd really like to see him get a look at centre, considering the flames are weaker there than on wing and he has played the position before, even during preseason iirc.
Looks great, essentially two 3rd lines
Not sure if there is a need to bring in a Zucker....would rather save the cap and keep Hathaway in the lineup.
Dube could be a great fit on the 2nd line.
I definitely agree with trying to save cap space, however, as much as I appreciate Frolik's four point game last night, I still think the Flames can use another legit top 6 player. Frankly, as well as Mangiapane lately, I would like to see him with Backlund and Tkachuk if we don't bring in anyone else.
Not sure if Dube would be ready to start on the second line but can definitely get there by the end of next season imo.

I have no doubt in my mind that Dube will be called up to the big club once his Stockton season is over. Or maybe even slightly before.
Stockton isn't going to make the playoffs and the Flames are hoping to go on a prolonged run. Dube is better "Developed" going through that experience with his future team mates. Not sure if he'd ever dress or just be a Black Ace for the games but it'd be great to have him as a change-it-up option and a bottom-six injury fill-in.
Dube has the skills and the toolbox of a top 6 forward. Just some more seasoning and some hard work in the gym and he can get there real soon. His points per game in a tough scoring league as a rookie is just outstanding right now.

2nd in points per game as a rookie in the A this year.

Dube needs to play at least 3rd line in the NHL. The guy isn't a 4th line player at all.

I see Dube as a guy who can play almost any role in the lineup, except probably top line (or enforcer I guess). I can see him playing a Byron/Mangiapane fourth line role, a two-way second or third line centre, and a power play and PK contributor. That's a valuable asset to have.
His point production is even more impressive after you consider that it took him a little while in the AHL to really get going.
