Default Practice notes Feb 5. Hamonic could join main group tmrw. Maybe option to play vs SJ.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
#Flames today at practice:

Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Bennett-Jankowski-Neal
Mangiapane-Ryan-Czarnik

Giordano-Brodie
Hanifin-Andersson
Kylington-Prout
Valiev

Hathaway absent. Hamonic missing but skated this morning.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Travis Hamonic is skating with Michael Stone prior to practice at the Saddledome this morning.

Hamonic missed Sunday’s game in Carolina with a lower body injury, but initial word was nothing serious. Another positive indicator with him skating today. #Flames

Coach Peters says Hamonic will likely practice with the group tomorrow. Says if he responds well, could be an option to play Thursday vs. San Jose. #Flames

Glad the Hamonic injury isn't major. Our post season would have looked grim if that were the case.

Still am. Take a look at how strongly Kulak performed on Montreal's top pair beside Weber this year.

Either way, yes right now, Hamonic is one of the only two RD I feel comfortable playing in the top four on this team in a playoff series. The dropoff to Stone or Andersson is significant, and I don't think Valimaki or Kylington are RD personally.

Feels weird that they had 3 full days off, right after their 10 day break. Good rest for the boys I guess but as a fan I feel some withdrawal.

It also makes the decision to start smith last Friday all the more baffling. Hopefully we dont have to suffer through that again.

What about all the days off between series sweeps?

I’d rather he rest until he is 100 percent. If it was bad enough that a doctor ordered he fly back to get an MRI, then I highly doubt he is at 100 percent as tough as he is.

If there is one game where it makes sense to play Prout it is vs the Sharks when they will be looking to take liberties against certain guys.

Not saying he might not be 100%, but doctors order tests all the time as a precaution. Wouldn't read anything more into it other than they thought it worthwhile looking at an MRI before he played again.
