The Calgary Flames announced today they have recalled forward Dillon Dube from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.

Dube, a native of Cochrane, Alberta, has one goal and seven assists for eight points in eight games for the Stockton Heat this season. The 20-year-old also skated in 20 games for the Flames earlier in the year scoring his first NHL goal and adding four assists for five points. Dube was selected by the Flames in the second round (56th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Mangiapane won’t play tonight. He’ll go back down to AHL Stockton after he gets cleared later today. #Flames

He knows what he needs to do this time and will be else overwhlemed. He’s gonna run with this next shot and will never see the AHL again.

I think that first shift rocking really affected him. He just didn’t seem well for a while, and pensive on the ice. Hopefully he is healthy, regrouped and ready to take off at the NHL level. His speed, skill and tenacity should be a real recipe for success.

The right move.

He’s been unlucky, but he’s shown more than any of the other call ups.

Quine did score three, but really Dube has looked better all around.

I think Hathaway has secured himself an NHL job for this season.

I have a good feeling about this. He should be more hungry this time around to prove he deserves a spot on the team.

I agree that Dube has been the best of the Stockton-rotated players. I also prefer his speed and tenacity to what some of the others bring.

I expect that this time around, the game will slow down a bit for him and he'll settle in.

Frolik/Bennett - Janko - Neal
Dube - Ryan - Hathaway

is a very solid bottom 6

I got the feeling he wouldn't come back until they had a role for him on the team

Really excited he's coming back!

Good decision! Glad the Flames are giving big opportunities to the young guys. As for Mangiapane, he’s gotta learn how to produce something in the NHL. Has his moments but just no end product whatsoever so far.

Team should’ve kept Quine up, he’s at minimum, a good 13th forward for the team. But if this call up means Dube draws back in, I’ll take it. Hopefully he hit the weight room and gained some extra lower body and upper body strength.

Foo: 6th in scoring, 30gp, 9g,7a for 16 pts. -10

Dube: 8 gp, 1g,7a 8points, +2

EDIT: If Kylington and Mangipane were still rolling Foo would drop 2 spots.
For reference, Quine's been gone for a while and he's still 4th in scoring. Foo's not doing well IMO. But..... He sucked for the 1st half last year too and then went on a tear. We'll seee if he does this again this year.
