Default TSN: Flames 3-in-3 featuring Treliving

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/flames-...iority~1570696

Summary:

Both of our goaltenders give us a chance to win every night
Unless your name is Price or Lundqvist, I think the days of running one guy exclusively are over
We are very confident in both goaltenders and very excited about where the goaltending is right now

When asked about if the goaltending hierarchy has changed with the Flames, he says it might matter to people outside the room who the #1 goaltender is but they are confident in either guy

Our goal is to get Tkchauk signed before the start of next season
Both Matthew and us know the most important thing is the play on the ice and we are trying to limit distractions
Priority 1 for us is to sign him to a new contract and we will.
Those things take time and we have time.

On the areas he would like to address before the trade deadline:
#1 for us is trying to get back to health, can't properly assess the team until you get the team in front of you
after the break, get to health and would like to see where everyone fits and then go from there

Confirmed 100% Flames will make a trade. ;-)

I wish I knew what the deal was with Frolik.

Not just this year's injury, but he's been dismal for a while despite amazing season-opening fitness results.

Frolik finding even 80% of his prior game would be a huge addition to this team.

Maybe I’m out of whack in my thinking, but I felt Frolik was providing solid depth minutes prior to going down with the injury. He definitely struggled at the start of the year, but I had thought he put things together and was finding his stride. He’s a bottom 6 forward now, and IMO has lost his spot on the Backlund line to Bennett - but he’s a very good depth guy who can slide around throughout the lineup.

Yeah I thought Frolik had picked it up before being injured. He did start the year off poorly.

Ha! Franklin really talks with his hands and at the beginning of the video he bumps Treliving and he seemed startled or something.

No big deal but people who use their hands a lot when they talk make me chuckle.

Frolik is also the only player on the team who have looked to have any chemistry with Neal. Actually looked like a decent third line just before his injury.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Bennett
Frolik - Jankowski - Neal
Quine - Ryan - Hathaway

Looks pretty good when we get healthy.

Best offense we have had since I started following this team in 02.

Frolik got healthy scratched but afterwards was a very consistently good forward.

If Frolik comes back and is the legit Frolik, and Neal suddenly remembers how to score at a 25 goal pace again, this team is going to be incredible.

They're currently top 5 in the league without those two things.

It looks great for sure...but adding an on-fire-from-the-AHL-Dube would look even better.

Never settle! Lol!
