Flames Flames recall Buddy Robinson and Ryan Lomberg. Assign Kerby Rychel to Stockton

https://www.nhl.com/flames/news/flam...?tid=282300716

Quote:
The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled forwards Ryan Lomberg and Buddy Robinson from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League. The Flames have reassigned forward Kerby Rychel to Stockton.

Lomberg, a 24-year-old winger, is in his fourth pro season. He has a pair of goals along with four assists for six points and 12 penalty minutes in 19 games this season for the Stockton Heat. Lomberg has skated in three games for the Flames this season logging 17 penalty minutes.

BORN: Richmond Hill, ON DATE: December 9, 1994

HEIGHT: 5'10" WEIGHT: 196 lbs.

SHOOTS: Left

Robinson, a native of Bellmawr, New Jersey was acquired by the Flames this past offseason on July 2, 2018. The 27-year-old winger has two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 26 games for the Stockton Heat this season. Robinson led the Manitoba Moose in goals in 2017-18 with 25 and was third on the team in points with 53 (25G - 28A).

BORN: Bellmawr, NJ DATE: September 30, 1991

HEIGHT: 6'6" WEIGHT: 226 lbs.

SHOOTS: Left
Kind of surprised by Robinson recall. He hasn't been very productive for the Heat compared to his stats last year, but he is a big body forward.

Robinson will cast an imposing shadow from the press box.

That, or the coach really hates Austin Czarnik.

I didn't know we had a Buddy Robinson.

That's the jersey I need.

I'm pretty excited to see Buddy Robinson play although on the flip side I'm equally disappointed that they would rather have Lomberg here over Kerby Rychel. I thought Rychel looked really good in his two game stint and would be a player who would get more comfortable and start producing given just a little more time, hopefully Rychel is back in the new year 🎉

Does that mean Bennett and Neal could miss more time?

Why not Foo? I don’t get the Lomberg love

Surprised Robinson got called up, he's not really been producing much compared to Lazar. Maybe his two way game is better?

You misspelled "size".

I am skeptical that Lazar will ever play another game as a Flame.

Agreed. They know what they have in Lazar. Glad he's found his game in the AHL, but thats likely where it stays.

Treliving on the Fan this morning mentioned Bennett and Neal are game time decisions. So these call ups are probably precautionary.

Also worth noting, he said Valamaki isn't expected back until the end of January. Frolik maybe after Christmas.

On Lazar, I think he has one shot left to stick. Either he makes it in his next shot or he is done. I think they are letting him "marinate" to ensure that he has a strong basis to lean on when times get tough.
