Default 4 October — Practice notes

I don't know how to embed tweets, but here is what Wills has reported from the Saddledome today:

The only visible change is the swap on RW between lines 2 and 4. Czarnik looked really good with Backlund and Tkachuk yesterday evening.

Quite a few people wanted that RW swap before the game yesterday. Obviously Peters is on CP and heeding our advice.

I don't know whether this is a good thing or not.

If that’s the case I highly recommend trying a different QB on the 2nd PP

I thought Neal looked good on the first line. Surprised he hasn't been moved there.

This is either a remarkable moment in CP history, or I'm about to learn something about English today.

Someone mentioned in another thread the difficulty in determining how much of the difference was due to the changeup, and how much was due to score effects. I think Neal is going to continue to move up and down the lineup on the basis of in-game situations—at least to start. I still really like what Lindholm adds to the top line.

So good to see quotes rather than tweet links, which so many have problems, thank you.

It's by accident, I promise you.

Fan 960 reporting they were practicing 1-3-1 today.....it’s funny because I joked that they should try this after yesterday’s loss.

Sure hope the fellas put the loss in the rear view mirror and just concentrate on the future and getting better and more consistent.

Things will no doubt get better, its just that we all suffered some collective PTSD watching last night's game. Regular season isn't pre-season, and this team will still need some games to get everything in order.

I'm not sure how much stock we should put in these lines, since they changed constantly last night. Pretty sure everyone played with Gaudreau and Monahan at least once.

Not surprised to see Hanifin with Prout. That pairing always made the most sense.

Wouldn't you normally keep the pairs the same but for the injured player and his replacement?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Prout in the lineup just for revenge.

I don't think it is likely that they would replace a defender who had his lights punched out with someone who can't punch.

If hamonic had been hurt on a hockey play, tangled up and hurts a knee or something, sure they call up Andersson. Much harder to call him up though based on the circumstances around this injury.

Neal should be with Gaudreau and Monahan.

How good or bad is Prout? I didn't see much of the exhibition games, or notice him, he's got around 200 NHL games, and is the same age as Stone, Brodie and Hamonic, started last year with NJ but I think after the Vatanen trade he was sent down to the AHL

Seems a lot like Stone but more toughness.
