The Vatican is opposed to all forms of birth control. As was mentioned, the morning after pill does not induce an abortion, it's merely a super-concentrated form of conventional birth control pills that prevent ovulation. Calling it the "abortion pill" is just using loaded terminology in order to plead to people's emotions.
[Edit]
Actually, I'm partially wrong. RU-486 does indeed abort a pregnancy. The other common morning after pill, marketed under the name Plan B, acts as I described above. In the US, the FDA recently denied the sale of Plan B over-the-counter even though their medical experts ruled it was perfectly safe to sell it that way. Pro-lifers lobbied heavily to prevent its sale OTC.
