Final preseason game! Opening day rosters must be submitted by October 2nd 5pm ET!
Projected lines after morning skate!
Oilers are doing the Flames a favour and scratching preseason All Star Ty Rattie!
No TV broadcast! But Flames and Oilers will be streaming with regional restrictions on their websites!
Can the regular season start already!

They don't want to risk tarnishing that 47% shooting percentage!
the way over reaction runs in Edmonton this is a win win game. Flames win and the Oilers head over seas with self doubt from the team, media and fans. If they roll over Calgary the hype machine pumps up and it almost sets up the inevitability of a slow start in the regulation season.

They don't want Rattie to keep scoring and sign another player to 8.5 mill deal. Lol. Great to have that GM running that team.

If the Flames win, it's because Rattie wasn't in the lineup. Their annual doubt fest doesn't start til mid-late October.

I hope they move Tkachuk from Frolik and Backlund. It would be nice to see him on the top line for today.

Heading into the last exhibition game and no clear picture what the top-6 will look like.
Do all teams feel that they are rolling 4 lines coming out of exhibition?
ie have to give Frolik-Jankowski and Ryan more than 8-10 minutes and Backlund more than 12-14.

Took them too long to get Lindholm up there, I wouldn't mess with it.
The place to play is the lines two and three. We really haven't seen Neal with Backlund and Tkachuk yet so I'd get that going, then decide where to put Czarnik and Frolik for lines two and three.
Mangiapane in for Dube?
Andersson in for Stone? Valimaki?

I think you see the exact same forward group with Mang where Dube was. Personally I thought Backlund and Tkachuk looked the best they've looked all preseason with Frolik on the right side. Not sure why the desire to split that up.

As much as I’d like to see Tkachuk and Backlund with a finisher like Neal, it would leave Backlund as the only player with foot speed on that line.

I think you give Lindholm more time on the top line - he looked great there last game. And it makes sense - I don't see what needs to be fixed there.
As for Neal with Backlund and Tkachuk - I worry that the line lacks speed. I think Neal needs to be with speed and energy. Guys like Bennett, Czarnik, Ryan and Dube
