Doing so would leave the team with a 22 man roster..

Seems unlikely when 23 can be carried. I remember GG saying he preferred 22 but the team still rolled with 23 at all times.

I think there will be 23 players when its all said and done and IMO there will be at least 1 player going on waivers if not 2 to keep a waiver exempt player or 2 up.

Edit: I see you've edited your post and now seem to agree on the 23 man roster part.

I would love to be wrong but I've seen how this organization rolls. I don't expect we'll start the season with any waiver-exempt players on the roster, and we'll be groaning every time fist-chucking plugs like Peluso and Prout draw into the lineup against division rivals. The backup situation is a real head scratcher.

Is there any chance Rittich clears? I'd have to think he gets claimed.

If the brass think the same, do they send Gillies down? What does that mean for playing time in Stockton?

Based on what happened in the preseason, Parsons is the second best/most potential goalkeeper in the organization. I'd think he would benefit the most from starts in the AHL.

All that aside, if someone gets hurt and Rittich is claimed the team is in a bad spot.
